If you’re only looking for big chains and box stores, you may be in the wrong place. Home to just under 35,000 people, Butte is known for its big energy and small-town charm. While you can still find Walmart and Starbucks in Butte, it’s the small shops and businesses that really drive this town. Below are our favorite places to shop small in Butte, Montana!
Mick & Goldie’s Bakery
For those with a sweet tooth, Mick & Goldie’s Bakery is one of Butte’s local gems. This local, from-scratch bakery is located uptown. Owner Mikaila Ramone was born and raised in Butte. She opened this bakery in 2018 and it quickly became a town favorite. Her custom cakes are not only tasty but designed with precision and care.
Stop in for a morning bun or a delicious cupcake. Mikaila’s frosted sugar cookies are also very popular. The bakery also offers plenty of wheat-free options, including chocolate chip cookies and peanut butter oatmeal cookies. Prefer something savory? Mick & Goldie’s also offers scratch-made soups and sandwiches made with locally-sourced ingredients.
