Mick & Goldie’s Bakery
For those with a sweet tooth, Mick & Goldie’s Bakery is one of Butte’s local gems. This local, from-scratch bakery is located uptown. Owner Mikaila Ramone was born and raised in Butte. She opened this bakery in 2018 and it quickly became a town favorite. Her custom cakes are not only tasty but designed with precision and care.
Stop in for a morning bun or a delicious cupcake. Mikaila’s frosted sugar cookies are also very popular. The bakery also offers plenty of wheat-free options, including chocolate chip cookies and peanut butter oatmeal cookies. Prefer something savory? Mick & Goldie’s also offers scratch-made soups and sandwiches made with locally-sourced ingredients.
Butte Rescue Mission Thrift Store
If you want to support a local store that aims to give back to the community, BRM Thrift is the spot for you. This thrift store exists to support the homeless community of Butte Montana and Southwest Montana. Founded by Dallas Doyle in 1976, BRM is a privately funded 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization chartered in the state of Montana.
While the pandemic forced BRM Thrift to close its doors temporarily, the staff was able to remodel the store and reopen to the public. Not only can you shop here, you can also donate your time by volunteering at the Butte Rescue Mission Thrift Store. Learn more about their mission here.
UPTOP Clothing Co.
Started by two brothers, UPTOP is a popular, local lifestyle clothing brand in Butte. Luke and Colt Anderson say, “UPTOP was a term coined by Luke which represented the celebration of two guys jumping up and colliding in the air.” Their mission is to encourage customers to enjoy the moment and celebrate everything.
Today, UPTOP is home to tons of school-specific gear, including Montana shirts and hats and a variety of other items. The store reps the University of Montana, Montana State, Montana Tech, MSU Billings, and more. The shop also offers everything from hoodies and joggers to backpacks, mugs, koozies, you name it! Beautiful Butte and Beyond
This is a gift shop you can feel good about shopping in. Beautiful Butte and Beyond is a family-owned business that opened in 2012. Staff members also specialize in designing gift items from their unique digital photographic portfolio. Other products honor the mining industry of Butte, Montana.
The team consists of Pat Campbell, owner and creative photographer, and her two sons, Matt and Scott Campbell. All products for sale are created and designed in Montana. You can find everything from drinkware and jewelry to western wood wall art and more.
Butte Stuff
Butte Stuff is another great local shop located in Uptown Butte. According to their website, Butte Stuff specializes in “creating quality items depicting Butte’s rich past and historic landmarks.” Many of the items are made in-house. The shop’s inventory has also expanded to include Montana-made jewelry, hats and other apparel from local craftsmen and artists.
